True, every now and then, there are post about inspiration of how to look better.
Yes, I created this blog to document my everyday look. A way to challenge myself to be happy enough with my wardrobes without doing too much shopping.
Then some people thought it’s a good idea and before I realized, it has became some sort of movement. My friend Uberfunk has this brilliant idea to gather all the participants into one place and then Ditut put a lot of effort to execute it and created the #365fashionshuffle site. Up and running and looking good.
But hey, this blog, is not a fashion blog.
It is a place of…hope.
You might think #365shots is just one of the internet hype people start doing when New Years come. It soon will die when february comes.
But let’s begin with the reason why this hype is a hype.
Admit it. We all think we live a boring routine life. The same obligation to wake up early in the morning every single day to go to work that (some of us) hate. The same shit different day (thank you, Stephen King) we all have to go through to pay credit cards bill and house loan.
Big salaries comes with consequences, name it retail therapy, dining out, or buying (un)useful apps from the iTune store.
Before we realize, years changing and we question ourselves “what the F have I done this year that is interesting?”
#365shots project is a hype. But I call it a hope.
A hope that every single day in a year meant something. Everyday is a milestone that show us human being are interesting enough to make progress (if not changes). A hope to believe that 365 days is enough to make us better person, compare to the previous year.
What is my hope? I hope that by the end of this year, my hubby and I will have enough saving to make our dreams come true. Hope is not without sacrifice. My sacrifice is to drop shopping (not entirely), my one and only sport related activities I have.
It’s tough. It’s not even a month, yet my body is already aching for retails. But sharing my attempt to look good everyday helps. Sort of.
Other people who shared the same good feel of narcism like me, are gathering here. Celebrating every day of their live through the choices of clothes they wear.
A girl, who earns money by writing, commits herself to draw one skecth every single day, simply because she wants to be able to draw.
A woman, who doesn’t like to be reminded of her real age, commits to embrace every single day of her life to celebrate every ups and down side of being in that age.
A boy, who find love in food, recorded every single meal that goes into his stomach, and he calls it “heading to heaven, one meal at a time”.
An anonymous artist decided to draw on post it note every day for the whole year, simply because drawing on post it note is fun.
Knowing them or not, I feel like I share this connection with them.
Hope.
That this year, is going to be more awesome than last year.
